I suppose, in the end, it came down to experience, or rather the lack of that quality. Well, experience and a fabulous free kick from Ronaldinho who seems to have settled in at Milan as if he was born there.

I’ve been a bit down this week. Another of the great footballing loves of my life, Ruud van Nistelrooy, is out for nine months after an operation on his perenially difficult right knee. As always, however, Inzaghi was good for a certain amusement value.

Not the weekend for which I had hoped. Little Inzaghi not only didn’t start for Lazio but didn’t get on at all, which was a bit disappointing.
