Inzaghi eschewed the pleasure of seeing Italy crash and burn without him to play and win against his brother in the finals of this tennis tournament. Apparently it was a proper game, with lots of arguing with the umpire (suprisingly).
Despite his greater strength and ability Simone Inzaghi was defeated by the sheer animal cunning of his elder brother, something which I suspect is probably the story of the poor man’s life. There is even a monstrous suggestion that Filippo Inzaghi may have dived at one point in the match, apparently under the misapprehension that he would get a penalty, but I can’t believe that. Anyway, it’s nice to think that someone Italian won something on Sunday night
