Back in harness
By: Penny | July 17th, 2008Milan, including Inzaghi, were back in training yesterday. Money being so tight there was no pleasant sojourn by the seaside in the manner of Real Madrid. Instead, there was a general gathering at Milanello and a presentation of the reason why money is so tight, Ronaldinho, in an outfit that must have given Dolce and Gabbana an anxious night.
The Corrierie dello Sport asked Inzaghi for his opinion. “It is always good to welcome big names to the club,” said Pippo, with his unfailing politeness. “With him we can challenge for the title.” Inzaghi is taking a laid back approach to this season, apparently, wanting only the scudetto, the UEFA Cup and to keep hold of his record as top European goalscorer of all time. In bocca al lupo, to him and all the Milan team for the new season.
Inzaghino is having a less positive time of it. He’s one of the Rome Five, the Lazio players, including the club captain, Zauri, who were excluded from the Lazio training session in the Dolomites, and told to stay in Rome to work. They are all apparently unhappy about this, and have written to the club accusing them of bullying them, presumably in an attempt to make them leave. Let’s hope this resolves itself, I would like to see Simone Inzaghi play out the end of his career somewhere he can actually get some reasonable playing time.

Inzaghi is gonna be vital next year.. Borriello/Inzaghi are the only two that can play up front. Pato will be a sub.

I think so, and I very much hope that Borriello isn’t going to be a one season wonder, of course what matters is how Ronadldinho is going to impact on the team.

I think that it’s going to end up being a brazilian trifecta of Kaka-Dinho-Pato. Which isn’t that bad, really. But either way, I want to see Pippo/Borriello just as much

I’d like to think that Pato is the future of the side, but he is only 19 and I don’t want to see too much pressure put on him, Borriello had such a good season with Genoa that he must be worth playing. Inzaghi, I don’t know, so many times it’s seemed as if he’s going to give way gracefully, when Gilardino came being the prime example, and he’s still out there, scoring like a madman. He has such a good understanding with Kaka, it will be interesting to see how he plays with Ronaldinho.
