By: Penny | October 23rd, 2008So, it looks as if I’ll have my wish, Beckham and Inzaghi playing together. I’d give worlds to hear a conversation between those two, with Sheva interpreting. (Spoiler beneath)
That’s for January, however, at the moment we are in the throes of the UEFA Cup, with Milan playing Herrenveen, Ruud van Nistelrooy’s old team. Selflessly unconcerned about his record as all time European top scorer, Inzaghi claimed the first Milan goal, straight after giving some uppity Dutch defender a clip around the ear for his impudence. It looks like an own goal to me, but I wouldn’t argue about it.
His second goal, following a rarity from Gattuso, was a standard Inzaghi piece of opportunism, trotting in from the back of the penalty area, like the wily old dog that he is. Three goals in two games, not bad, for this early in the season.
