Il Padrino
By: Penny | June 19th, 2008Milan fans will no doubt be glad to know that while Pirlo labours under a Swiss sun and Kaka wades through piles of nappies, Inzaghi is not wasting his time on holiday eating large ice cream sodas on the beach.
Instead he is keeping his fitness up playing tennis in the VIP Masters, a tournament for current and ex-Serie A players, along with his brother and Alberto Paloschi. Paloschi, who will be burdened until he is ninety with the fact that he scored in the first eighteen seconds of his Serie A debut, is Inzaghi’s figlioccio calcistico, his ‘footballing godson’ according to the gazzetta, in an unusual burst of sentimentality.
Paloschi’s way of playing is similar to Inzaghi’s, and he apparently watches and listens very carefully to his mentor. Hopefully, though, unlike Gilardino’s, his style is not so similar that they will perpetually get in each other’s way. Great things are expected of the young man, to the extent that although the plan is to send him out on loan next season, if the right club can’t be found Milan will keep him at the San Siro. It’s possible that this will become even more likely if Milan don’t find a big name striker at whom to throw their money. Arsenal have apparently warned them off Adebayor, and there don’t seem to be any other candidates at the moment, with the exception of Cassano, who Sampdoria say, is not for sale.

Penny nice to see Pippo has his own space, feel free to join us at the MIlan page and let me know if you want to do a Pippo spot up there as well during the summer.

Penny,
love you simply for the fact that you have set up this page!
I really miss not having Superm Pips in the squad and if you caught all the chances that Toni blew against the french, i’ll bet, that like me, you were picturing Pippo burying at least one or two of those crosses into the box into the back of the net!
Keep it up!

Sam the Paloschi is for all intents and purposes done, but these loan deals I assume can be recalled rather quickly if need be.

sam, so did I, but I’m going by what Galliani is reported as saying in the gazzetta. He apparently said today that if they can’t buy Adebayor they aren’t going in for anyone else, which makes it more likely they will want to keep Paloschi I would have thought.
Thank you Avia, affection is always welcomed on this blog. I’m not sure what has happened to Toni, I saw a few of the Bayern matches and he seemed to me to be on form during the season. The general agreement seems to be that Donadoni could have afforded to take Pippo and I still wonder if he’s going to regret that he didn’t.
calcio-calcio, I do wonder what he had to do to get to go, ten goals in seven matches, I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens tomorrow.

Gianfranco, thank you very much, I just have to hope he doesn’t retire too soon. I’d love to do a Pippo spot, just tell me what you want me to do.
