In vacanza

Since Inzaghi is sunning his skinny self in Tuscany, this blog is on light duties at the moment. He is probably thanking his lucky stars that he wasn’t involved in Monday’s defeat by Holland, a match that is sure to live long in the memory, even if Italy make it out of the group stages.
The gazetta dragged itself down to the beach to interview Inzaghi, and asked him which were his favourite 5 out of the 100 goals he had scored for Milan. Mainly from the last couple of seasons, since he returned from those purgatorial two years of injuries, here they are, in reverse order.
5. First goal in a Milan shirt, against Fiorentina, on 9 September 2001.
4. Birthday goal against Stella Rossa, Red Star Belgrade or FK Crvena zvezda, take your pick, 9 August, 2006. Sadly not Pellegatti commentating.
3. Equaliser against Seville in the Supercoppa, 31 August, 2007, Carlo looks impressed.
2. First goal in Yokohama, against Bocca Juniors in the final of the Club World Cup, 16 December 2007, includes a goal from ‘la tempesta perfetta’ or Nesta as his mother calls him.
1. The second goal in Athens in the Champions League Final against Liverpool, 23 May 2007, perfectly judged to go under the goalkeeper, no wonder Inzaghi apparently woke up a couple of times thinking he dreamt this.

I would, and also the 88th minute goal against Lyon in 2006, neither of them are particularly pretty but I don’t think anyone cared.

It’s odd how they are all beautiful once they are in the back of the net

If Pippo played against Holland he would have came on as a sub in the 70th, done nothing until the 92nd and then scored 4 straight goals.
Ahh, only in my dreams… = [

and if he hadn’t, he’d have at least made an effort, if it’s humanly possible, Inzaghi will give it a go.
